EXesS
defended his International Wrestling Syndicate title beating both
Beef Wellington and Damian. As Damian was getting ready to rearrange
Beef Wellington's face with an Ohtani kick, EXesS came out of nowhere
to ambush Damian and get the pin to keep his title. Match#1: Tomassino pinned Player Uno in 7:37 Hardcore Heat began with a David vs. Goliath battle pitting Player Uno against the vicious giant Tomassino. While Player Uno hails from the Mushroom Kingdom, he currently resides in Canada's capital Ottawa just across the river from Gatineau. So Uno was very much the hometown hero and his local fans went berserk when Uno dropped Tomassino with a M. Bison foot stomp from the top rope to the top of Tomassino's head with Tomassino was on the outside. Alas, Uno did not have enough charge ups or extra lives to deal with the hulking Tomassino and the 6' 8" giant pinned the Mushroom Warrior after a second story power bomb.
A bad tempered Fred la Merveille defended the honour of the Quebec flag beating the Italian flag waving Dan Paysan in a match that saw Fred's valet Elsa Bangz murder Dan's valet D-Vyn with a suplex after the two women exchanged knife edged chops to each others chests. Fred won the match with a massive "101" swinging pedigree.
This match was originally scheduled to be a match for Chris Bishop's IWS Canadian title, but Kid Kamikaze who stole Chris Bishop's belt during Extreme Dream II, refused to allow the belt to be put on the line. Instead, Kid Kamikaze told Chris Bishop to go find one of his "UWA buddies" ... who turned out to be The Amazing Darkstone. While Darkstone's magical flowers and pants, especially the pants, did momentarily distract Vanessa Kraven, the Man-Killer went back to doing what she does best - hurting people. The difference in the match was Vanessa's strength as well as the smooth teamwork between her and Kid Kamikaze compared to some miscommunications between Chris Bishop and the Amazing Darkstone.
Sabian, the Black Jesus, cemented his reputation as one of the best indy wrestlers in North America beating UWA Hardcore's Lionel Knight in a high-flying crowd-pleasing match.
In an old school IWS hardcore match, the IWS' original Hardcore Hero beat the Evil Ninja from one end of the Palais de Congres hall to the other. Faced with the dilemma of a table with a broken leg, Phantom brought out a second table and built an l-shaped fort with the two tables. The Evil Ninja upped the stakes by bringing out a roll of barbed wire, but ended up regretting that decision when the Green Phantom put him through the barbed wire and the tables with a huge Phantasm.
2.0 added to their reputation as shit-disturbing cowards, isolating their opponents when they could and encouraging their opponents to duke it out while they watched the rest of the time. A special shout-out to Twiggy who at one point delivered a series of bionic elbows that flattened every man in the match including his own partner!
Despite introducing new tassels, Beef Wellington was unable to pull out a victory and become the new IWS champion, in a match that saw some innovative three-way offence as Beef, Damian and EXesS desperately fought for the IWS belt. In fact, Beef was semi-conscious in the corner after being stiff-kicked in the face several times in the face by Damian and the God of War was looking to finish Beef off when EXesS ambushed Damian out of nowhere to get the pin and remain IWS champion.
